The WSD-1 Wind Sensor (Modbus) by Dyacon is a professional-grade wind monitoring instrument designed for precise measurement of wind speed, wind direction, gusts, and rolling wind averages in industrial, agricultural, meteorological, and environmental applications. It combines a 3-cup anemometer and a contactless wind vane in one rugged unit, delivering highly reliable real-time wind data for weather stations, PLC systems, SCADA, and data loggers. The sensor communicates using Modbus RTU over RS-485, ensuring stable digital output even over long cable distances. Built with 6061 anodized aluminum, stainless steel bearings, and a low-power design, the WSD-1 is engineered for continuous outdoor operation in harsh environments. Its contactless wind direction sensor eliminates dead spots commonly found in potentiometer-based sensors, while real-time gust detection and 2-minute/10-minute rolling averages improve monitoring accuracy for safety-critical and operational applications.
